89. Tag - Erfolg / Success

Heute habe ich den Tank wieder montiert und auf Dichtigkeit geprüft. Der Einbau dauert immer viermal länger als der Ausbau. Ich wollte die Tankbänder zuerst am Rahmen anschrauben und dann mit der Spannschraube um den Tank ziehen. Nach einer halben Stunde habe ich völlig genervt den Tank wieder rausgenommen und die Bänder erst am Tank befestigt und dann auf den Rahmen geschraubt. Den Benzinhahn habe ich mit Teflonband eingeschraubt.
Today I reassembled the tank and checked it for leaks. The installation always takes four times longer than the removal. I wanted to screw the tank straps to the frame first and then pull them around the tank with the tensioning screw. After half an hour I took the tank out again, completely annoyed. First I fixed the bands to the tank and then screwed them on the frame. I screwed in the sediment bowl with teflon tape.

Dann wurde es spannend. Ich  fülle die ersten fünf Liter Benzin in den Tank und schaue mir den Tank von unten an. Nichts! Gar nichts! Der Tank ist dicht. Die 6 Tage Tanksanierung waren erfolgreich. 
Then it became exciting. I fill the first five liters of fuel into the tank and look at the tank from below. Nothing! Nothing at all! The tank is tight. The 6 days tank renovation was successful. 

Um ganz sicher zu gehen fülle ich den Tank randvoll auf, schließe den Benzinhahn und werde  morgen prüfen ob noch irgend ein Benzinverlust zu messen ist.
To be on the safe side I fill up the tank to the brim, close the fuel tap and tomorrow I will check if there is still any fuel loss.

Leider wird die Freude doch ein wenig getrübt. Etwas Benzin läuft über und löst sofort den schwarzen Lack auf. Naja, ich sehe es positiv. So kann ich sofort sehen, wenn der Tank undicht ist. Wenn der Tank auch den Vibrationen widersteht und nach einem Monat immer noch nicht dicht ist, kann ich ihn ja mit benzinresistenten Lack neu lackieren.
Unfortunately the joy is a little bit clouded. Some petrol spills over and immediately dissolves the black paint. Well, I see it positive. So I can see immediately if the tank is leaking. If the tank resists the vibrations and is still not tight after a month, I can repaint it with petrol resistant paint.
