267. Tag . Stewarts Speedometer

Ich habe den Tachometer aus dem Wagen ausgebaut und möchte ihn erst überprüfen, bevor ich ihn später in Betrieb nehme. Zum Modell und Baujahr kann ich keine Hinweise finden. Eine kurze Internetrecherche läßt mich aber vermuten, dass er zum Baujahr des Wagens passt. Oft haben die Stewart Speedometer das Baujahr auf dem Zifferblatt. Bei meinem kann ich keinen Baujahr finden.
Der Speedometer hat eine Geschwindigkeitsanzeige (miles per hour)  und zwei Anzeigen für die Strecke in Meilen. Die Anzeige "Season Milage" zählt die Gesamtstrecke bis zu 9999 Meilen und die Anzeige "Trip" kann 99 Meilen messen. Die Tripanzeige kann manuell genullt werden.
I have removed the speedometer from the car and would like to check it first before I put it into operation later. I can't find any clues about the model and year of manufacture. However, a quick internet search leads me to believe that it matches the year of manufacture of the car. Often the Stewart speedometers have the year of manufacture on the dial. On mine I can't find a year of manufacture.
The speedometer has a speed display (miles per hour) and two displays for the distance in miles. The Season Milage display counts the total distance up to 9999 miles and the Trip display can measure 99 miles. The Trip display can be manually zeroed.

An diesem Stift, kann die Anzeige "Trip" vor- und zurück gedreht werden. Wenn man den Stift zieht, kann man die Anzeige direkt auf Null zurückstellen. Das funktioniert aber nicht immer richtig.

An der Unterseite ist der Anschluss für die Tachowelle. Das sieht soweit gut aus.

Wenn ich den Speedometer schüttele, kann man die Mechanik im innern hören.

Jetzt möchte ich das Gehäuse öffnen um mir ein Bild über den technischen Zustand zu machen.
Now I want to open the case to get an idea about the technical condition.

Ich löse die drei Schrauben um den hinteren Deckel zu öffnen.
I loosen the three screws to open the rear cover.

Die hintere Platte ist aber nicht der Deckel des Gehäuses, sondern nur ein Adapterplatte zum Aufschrauben des Speedometers auf das Armaturenbrett. Die Funktion der kleinen schraube in der Mitte des Gehäuses ist nicht ersichtlich.
The rear plate is not the cover of the housing, but only an adapter plate for screwing the speedometer onto the dashboard. The function of the small screw in the middle of the housing is not obvious.

Ich schraube alles wieder zusammen. Zum Öffnen des Gehäuses muss ich den Messingring vorn abziehen. Das funktioniert aber nicht so einfach. Ich beschließe den Speedometer nicht zu öffnen um eine Beschädigung zu vermeiden. 
I screw everything back together. To open the housing, I have to pull off the brass ring at the front. But that does not work so easily. I decide not to open the speedometer to avoid damage. 

125. Tag - Fußmatte vorn / Front Floor Mat

Es ist Zeit für eine neue Fußmatte.
It is time for a new doormat.

Die Neue ist ein bisschen größer als die alte.
The new one is a bit bigger than the old one.

Also ist es ziemlich logisch, dass die neue Matte auch nicht in den Fußraum passt. Interessant, dass die Fußmatten nicht passgenau sind. Sollen sie für verschiedene Baujahre mit verschiedenen Bodenformen passen oder haben die Autos so große Toleranzen, dass man sie besser individuell zuschneidet oder haben es sich die Fußmattenhersteller einfach zu einfach gemacht? Ich weiß es nicht.

So geht es jedenfalls nicht.
So it is quite logical that the new mat does not fit into the footwell either. It is interesting that the floor mats do not fit exactly. Should they fit for different years of construction with different floor shapes or do the cars have such large tolerances that it is better to cut them individually or have the floor mat manufacturers simply made it too easy for themselves? I do not know.
At least it doesn't work like that.
