40. Tag - SKS Rennkompressor

Beim letzten Reifenwechsel habe ich eine Fußpumpe bei Autoteile Unger gekauft, damit ich nicht mehr zur Tankstelle fahren muss. Diese Pumpe aus Chinesischer Produktion war undicht und völlig unbrauchbar. Da alle Fußpumpen gleich aussehen, habe ich erst gar nicht noch andere Verkaufsmarken ausprobiert, da sie ja wahrscheinlich alle aus der gleichen Produktion kommen.

At the last tyre change I bought a foot pump at Autoteile Unger, so that I don't have to drive to the petrol station anymore. This pump from Chinese production was leaking and completely unusable. Since all foot pumps look the same, I didn't even try other sales brands, because they probably all come from the same production.

Im Internet bin ich dann im Fahrradzubehör fündig geworden. Der Original Rennkompressor des Deutschen Herstellers SKS kann bis zu 14 bar Pumpen. Rennräder habe nämlich auch solch hohe Reifendrücke. Zwei Häuser weiter ist ein kleiner Fahrradladen, welcher den Rennkompressor tatsächlich hatte. Ich durfte ihn auch vor dem Kauf ausprobieren.

Es handelt sich um eine Handbetriebene Standpumpe, ähnlich der Pumpen aus der Zeit des Model-Ts.

Der Griff ist aus Holz und der Fuß aus Metallguss. Man kann damit außer einem Fahrradventil auch das Standard Autoventil anschließen.

Then I found some bicycle accessories on the Internet. The original racing compressor of the German manufacturer SKS can pump up to 14 bar. Racing bikes have such high tire pressures. Two houses away is a small bicycle shop, which actually had the racing compressor. I was allowed to try it out before I bought it.

It is a hand operated stand pump, similar to the pumps from the time of the Model-T.

The handle is made of wood and the foot is made of cast metal. You can use it to connect a bicycle valve as well as the standard car valve.
