Nachdem ich die Schrauben der Ölwanne am 275. Tag nachgezogen hatte, ist der Ölverlust entlang der Ölwannendichtung mehr geworden. Das Fahren hat so keinen Spaß mehr gemacht, da bei jedem Stopp unter dem Wagen lag und den Motor mit einem Lappen säuberte um zu vermeiden, dass das Öl auf die Straße läuft. Das war natürlich keine Lösung. Also habe ich mir für heute vorgenommen der Sache näher auf den Grund zu gehen. Die undichte Stelle solle doch in der Werkstatt bei laufendem Motor zu finden sein. Sicher ist es auch unwahrscheinlich, dass das Öl überall entlang der Ölwannendichtung herausläuft.
Ich nehme die Bodenplatten vorn heraus und bin ziemlich überrascht was ich da sehe. Das Getriebe ist oben komplett mit Öl benetzt. Sogar der Magnetokontakt ist voller Öl.
After I tightened the oil pan bolts on the 275th day, the oil loss along the oil pan gasket has become more. Driving was no longer fun this way, as at every stop I lay under the car and cleaned the engine with a rag to prevent the oil from running onto the road. This was of course no solution. So I decided to get to the bottom of it today. The leak should be found in the workshop with the engine running. Surely it is also unlikely that the oil runs out everywhere along the oil pan gasket.
I take out the front floor pans and am quite surprised at what I see. The top of the gearbox is completely wet with oil. Even the magneto contact is full of oil.
The cause is quickly found. The transmission door is not tight. The oil is leaking out on all sides. From below, it looks as if the oil is leaking out of the oil pan gasket.
Oil even comes out of the top of the transmission door. This is also the reason why not only the magneto contact but also the bottom boards are wetted with oil from below.
It is not enough to seal the transmission door with a paper gasket only. The main problem is the door itself. It is not completely flat and therefore cannot seal properly.
I take the transmission door off, clean it, and try to straighten it as best I can.
Replaced the old gasket with a new one and reinstalled it with a liquid sealant on both sides. I will now leave the car until tomorrow and then test the tightness of the transmission door.
