Meinen Reservekanister hatte ich vor ein paar Tagen in das Motorrad, einer BMW R25/3 von 1954 gefüllt. Ein Benzinschlauch des Motorrades war porös, der Tank vollständig trocken.
Also dachte ich, dass es eine gute Idee ist, schon heute zur Tankstelle zu fahren und den Benzintank des Model Ts und den Reservekanister zu füllen.
Dabei habe ich nochmal den aktuellen Verbrauch ausgerechnet. Ich bin 118,2km gefahren und habe 19 Liter Benzin getankt. Das ist ziemlich genau ein Verbrauch von 16l/100km. Das ist für Kurzstrecken in der Stadt ziemlich gut. Wobei ich auch sehr entspannt gefahren bin. Mit dem Verbrauch bin ich sehr froh. Außerdem habe ich festgestellt, dass der Absperrhahn am Tank nicht ganz dicht ist. Der Wassersammler ist immer mit etwas Benzin benetzt. Darum werde ich mich demnächst kümmern. Vielleicht geht dann der Verbrauch noch weiter runter.
I had filled my spare canister into the motorcycle, a 1954 BMW R25/3, a few days ago. A gasoline hose of the motorcycle was porous, the tank completely dry.
So I thought it would be a good idea to go to the gas station already today and fill the Model T's gas tank and the spare can.
While doing so, I calculated the current consumption again. I drove 118.2km and filled up with 19 liters of gasoline. That's pretty much a consumption of 14,7mpg. That is pretty good for short distance traffic in the city. Whereby I also drove very relaxed. I am very happy with the consumption. I also noticed that the stopcock on the tank is not completely tight. The water collector is always wetted with some gasoline. I will take care of that soon. Maybe then the consumption will go down even further.
