207. Tag - Doppelter Rückspiegel / Double rear view mirror

Ein normales Auto hat zwei Außenspiegel und einen Innenspiegel. Mein Model T hat einen Außenspiegel und zwei Innenspiegel.
Wer hat das eingebaut? Ich weiß es nicht.
Was soll das?! Ich weiß es nicht.
Ist das original? Ich weiß es nicht.
War das eine zeitgemäße Ausstattung? Ich weiß es nicht.
Macht das Sinn? Das weiß ich - nein!
A normal car has two outside mirrors and one inside mirror. My Model T has one outside mirror and two inside mirrors.
Who installed that? I don't know.
What is this?! I don't know.
Is it original? I don't know.
Was this period equipment? I don't know.
Does it make sense? I do know - no!

Das macht einem völlig verrückt. Man kann beide Spiegel nach hinten richten. Aber warum sollte man das machen. Man sieht nicht besser, wenn man doppelt sieht. Jeder der mal zu viel getrunken hat, kann das bestätigen.
It drives you completely crazy. You can point both mirrors backwards. But why should you do that. You don't see better when you see double. Anyone who has ever had too much to drink can confirm that.

Man einen Spiegel auf sich selbst richten. Warum sollte Mann das machen? 
You turn a mirror on yourself. Why should man do that?

Oder man könnte einen Spiegel auf die Seite drehen, um zu sehen was neben dem Wagen passiert. Ein total unruhiges, vorbei rasendes Bild beim Fahren. Das lenkt einem total ab und macht auch keinen Sinn. 
Or you could turn a mirror to the side to see what's happening next to the car. A totally unsteady, racing past image while driving. That's totally distracting and doesn't make sense either. 

Wenigstens gibt die Konstruktion noch einen Spalt für die Ampel frei.
At least the construction still gives a gap for the traffic light.
