Heute möchte ich die auffällige Zündspule des zweiten Zylinders befunden. Die Sichtprüfung zeigt, dass es sich um eine alte Zündspule handelt. Sie hat noch den alte Kontaktplatte unter dem beweglichen Federkontakt, die aus einzelnen Nadeln besteht. So sieht es zumindest aus. Der eigentliche Kontakt hat schon einen Einbrand.
Today I would like to find the conspicuous ignition coil of the second cylinder. The visual inspection shows that it is an old ignition coil. It still has the old contact plate under the movable spring contact, which consists of individual needles. At least that's what it looks like. The actual contact already has a burn-in.
Eine moderne Zündspule sollte im Primärkreis einen Widerstand von ca. 0,2-3 Ohm und im Sekundärkreis einen Widerstand von 5-20 Kiloohm haben. Ich gehe davon aus, dass es hier ähnlich ist. Die Sekundärkreis hat einen Widerstand von 12,9 Kiloohm. Das passt.
The second step of the invbestigation is measuring the electrical resistance. The upper side terminal is the primary winding and the lower side terminal is the secondary winding. The common negative terminal is at the bottom of the ignition coil.
The primary circuit has a resistance of 9.48 kiloohms. This resistance is too high.
The measurement across the two poles on the side should actually add up to the sum of the previous two measurements. Or do I have a mistake in thinking?
The third step is the check with the tester. The second warning, not to operate the tester with a battery charger, I just ignore, because I have no battery in the workshop. Besides, it's a Bosch charger that's about 20 years old. Of course it can operate the tester ;-)
The current of the ignition coil varies between 0.8 and 1.2 amps. So not the required 1.3 amps. Presumably the amperage would also be lower with a 6 volt battery. I still have to check that.
However, the ignition coil produces a good spark in the tester.
But the ignition coil also has a spark at the contact. Should this not be prevented by the capacitor? I will now first ask the specialists.
